Family business

Entrepreneur Ville Kyllönen’s interest in earthmoving machines and their technology began as a child and in adolescence during summer jobs and his free time at Koneselkä Oy, an earthmoving equipment salvage yard founded by his parents in 1991 in the village of Saviselkä in Kärsämäki, Finland.

In 2001, while Ville was on an international internship in mechanical engineering studies in the Netherlands, Ville founded Konesilta Ky and bought his first mini excavator with earnings from his summer job and borrowed the remaining €5,000 from his sister. He succeeded in selling the machine, and Konesilta’s operations slowly began to grow from that point.

The family business celebrated its 20th anniversary in March 2021.

In the financial year ending in February 2022, we sold 700 machines in thirteen different countries, and our turnover for the financial year was over 42 million EUR. Our repeat customer rate is about 65%.

Konesilta Oy employs approximately 30 people, and wife Mirja and the oldest children are actively involved in daily operations.
